Clover Green Wedding

I had the pleasure of creating this idea for a clover green wedding. I'm still waiting to hear a response back from the bride but even if this isn't her style, (which I'm completely comfortable with, I still think this idea is a fun and cute wedding. The theme - Two Peas in a Pod- Doesn't the couple already sound adorable. I can already see the wedding album. The beautiful green combined with the pop of yellow is great of any after noon wedding. I went ahead and selected two alternating bride's maid's dresses that complement each other to lighten the mood of the ceremony even more. I absolutly love the centerpiece idea. I thought you could light these little lamps with tea light candles and decorate fire proof lamp shades with daisys. Around the bottom you could brigtne the light with volitive candles to enhance the mood. This combined with simple flowers and a fun wedding cake encourage a fun light hearted environment. Perfect for that after noon wedding that takes you back to puppy love and will make your guest feel like they are like two peas in a pod!

Easter Photo

First let me say that I am sorry I haven't had a chance to publish this week. Apparently the Easter Bunny brought the flu to Tommy and I. We've both been at home the entire week sick in bed. No fun. Regardless I was able to snag this shot for Easter. I've been playing around with my photo editor coming up with some creative ideas. Let me know what your thoughts are about this shot of Tommy.

Thanks everyone!

Centerpiece

This center piece is one we designed for a recent wedding. I wish I had a better photo because this is absolutely fantastic. The vase itself is 24 inches tall and in their finale presentation they were lit with lights at the bottom, filled with water and held one butter fly gold fist each. As you could imagine the reception room was AMAZING to see. I did not do the photography at this wedding and I didn't get to get a professional shot before the events began, so I'm hoping to get better images from the bride. Let me know your feed back!

Hands

I love photography. Such a creative ways to capture special moments and meanings in our lives. One thing I love to photograph the most is hands. We use our hands everyday and in so many ways. We use our hands to express emotions, to talk, to work, to show love and to connect to each other. Hands are an insite to someones life they show what type of work we do or how old we are. Hands are beatifu.

The picture above is of my father-in-law's hands. We were at an engament together and I noticed that he was holding his coffee cup in a manner that I've seen him hold it several times before. He and his children know that he is an active coffe drinker, so I quietly took the snap shot without. Later he was very surprised to see the image. I think its a picture that our family will enjoy for years to come and remind of a small piece of how very special this person is.

Best Wishes and Happy Easter!

My mom found the above feather center piece and I thought it was beautiful for the right bride. It reminds me of snow covered palm trees. It also makes me think of a fun retro wedding - maybe we could throw in a few lava lamps? :) Regardless of what your likes or dis likes are I think you will find that Everlasting Memories will meet your needs. We design your wedding around you - we'll help make your day a memory for a life time.

Tulip Weddings

I've been asked to put together a few ideas for a clinic that held tulips and the main idea. Tulips are a very delicate flower, but they can be used in weddings. I've spent most of the evening looking for ideas and I have many of my own that I plan to present to this client. As you can see I've posted two story boards from my research. The top one is elegent - bronze tones with playful yellow set the stage. I see this wedding in a late afternoon, sunset or evening event. The reception would be filled with soft candle light and the bride and groom celebrate the start of their lives together. The wedding below is filled with bright colors. More playful and suitable for a summer afternoon wedding. It would produce a relaxed enviroment and fantastic photos as the outside lighing during the summer months is wonderful.

I'd love to hear your feed back or ideas. Keep your fingers crossed we'll get the opprotunity to do this wedding. I can't wait to see what we come up with and share the photos with you.

Every Detail Counts - Even if your guest don't know it

Weddings are all about the little details that go into them. Many of these details are not even noticed by your guest, but they add special meaning to the bride and groom. For example, my husband calls me his butterfly. Its been my nick name since our early dating games. When I started planning our wedding I wanted to incorporate this into our wedding, but I did not want the butterflies to be overwhelming. Each bride's maid had a small butterfly in their bouquet and their necklaces were very small diamond butterflies. At the reception there where small, white silk butterflies in the arrangements and each guest favor was wraped and topped with a butterfly instead of a bow. These small accents didn't stand out to the guest, but hidden behind the scence my husband and I saw little hints of butterflies everywhere and that reminded us of our special love.

Other details you will find in some of our work is in many of the bouquets that our floral designer creates she will sow in by hand small crystals that add that special sparkle to your special day. These make it appear that the flowers have dew drops on them and they are amazing under the light.

Make sure you let you photographer know about the special details that you have included in your wedding so they'll be sure to snap some photos for you. Any good photographer will have a good eye for detail and they should see the work involved. YOu also want to make sure your photographer is detailed oriented in the sense that they frame photos well and play close attention to lighting. In today's world of digital photography there is no excuse for a photographer to produce bad pictures.

I hope that this blog helps you think about the little details for your wedding. Make it your day - thats what its all about. Its all about creating your everlasting memory.

Summer Wedding Idea

I've been working on this idea above for a summer wedding. I think the bright colors are flirty for summer and the wedding gown is light and airy, so the bride can stay as cool as possible. The dark brown keeps the romantic side of things while the yellow remind us of the fun of summer. This combined with a elegant table setting of the "perfect pair" allows a couple to appear sophisticated, but outspoken all in the same setting. I think we'll see more of this dark v/s bright in the days to come.

Not really sure...

Okay, so I'm not really sure that any one is seeing my blog. So I've spent a few days trying to figure out if this thing is even publishing to any one besides me. I've been very busy this weekend helping a friend move and editing the horrible photos I recieved from my own wedding. It will take a lot of work, but I think I can fix enough of them to make a nice album for Jonathan and I. As I'm going through these I'm reminded how responsible a photographer has to be when capturing another person's special event. A lot of though has to go into the lighting and how that light will look once the image is blown up. Images must be in focus otherwise its pointless to blow them up and finally you must frame the picture correctly. Make sure all lines are straight and the picture is centered - otherwise they look like your everyday shots. Any creativity can be done later with the computer but it is of the up most importance that your orifinal shots be clear and sharp. You are only as good as your work in this field.

So if any one is reading this blog I'd love it if you would just respond and let me know you are seeing my messages. Sure would love to know this has gone public.

Best Wishes! Dawn
