More from Argentina and Darren's Wedding

Sorry it has been so long since I've posted last. I've been really busy with the holidays. Family events and not to mention my photography business has been booming! The blessings are so abundant and my family is very thankful. Hopefully now I'm back on track and you'll be seeing lots of great post this week.

I finished Argentina's wedding and I wanted to share some of the images with you. Yes, I know one of them is blurry but it was intentional to show motion and I like it. This was a beautiful candle light wedding held at a hotel near the air port. The music during the ceremony was incredible and this is absolutely a lovely couple.

Tommy's Visit With Santa

I've been a little under the weather this week, so I am behind on editing last weekend's wedding photos, but I look forward to having them completed this week. I wanted to go ahead and share a sneak peek for you guys to see.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart

Today is my husband's birthday. No, he is not 3 (the store was sold out of ones) he is 31 today. I am so grateful for him. He has been my inspiration and my joy. We've only been married for a little less than a year now, but we truly are like two old souls. It was just the three of us tonight celebrating with Jonathan's favorite ice cream cake and I just love this image that I snapped when he was blowing out all 31 candles. Tommy's expression is priceless... only one that a child can make.

Something Fun...

As the sun was setting today I snapped this shot. This is my favorite time of day when the sky is a rainbow of colors and daylight is just trying to hang on. I showed this image in both color and black and white. I think they are both great.

Memories of Memaw Josie

I've spent most of the day cooking in the kitchen getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. It seems that in my family so much tradition has been passed down with recipes and dishes that every time I go to cook a meal like this I can't help but remember those I love. Every time I make corn bread I am reminded of my Memaw Josie. I remember standing next to her in the kitchen learning how to make what was one of her favorite dishes. I remember her saying "now you pour the buttermilk in there until its thick like cake batter. Not to thin and not to thick. Be careful". And today every time I'm pouring in the butter milk I think of her saying that to me. I can even still hear the sound of her voice. I couldn't even to tell you today how to make the corn bread without showing you because its recipe like so many others she shared with me were not written - they were made with the eyes or the feeling of a spoon. I dumped this pan of corn bread out and instantly thought of her - it looked just like the bread she use to make and it smelled perfect. I could almost hear her saying good job with her coy little smile across her face - I know she would be proud. The other amazing part of this story is I make the corn bread in the same iron pan that she used - it honors me to carry on such a tradition. I took the hot pan over to the sink and put the cold water on it and watched the steam blow up - something I had to wait until I was a big girl to do and I turned and found my son watching me. I wonder if he'll have the same memories of me one day that I have of my family. I can only pray that he does and that he to will carry on tradition.

So between housework today I've manage to take a couple of shots and I wanted everyone to meet our pets - Samantha the Rottweiler, Romeo the pug and Sia (sigh) the cat!
